Photoroom for Pinterest (Chrome extension) — last updated 2026-05-09
This Chrome extension (the "Extension") is published by Persora as a companion to photo-room.online ("Photoroom"). This page lists exactly what data the Extension touches.
What the Extension does
The Extension lets you send an image from Pinterest to your Photoroom account as a style reference. It does this and nothing else.
Data the Extension handles
| Item | Where it goes | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Photoroom auth tokens (JWT access + refresh) | Stored locally in chrome.storage.local on your device. Sent to https://api.photo-room.online to authenticate API calls. |
So you sign in once and not on every Pinterest visit. |
| URL of the Pinterest image you click | Sent to https://api.photo-room.online. Photoroom downloads the image and stores it in your account. |
Core feature — without the URL we cannot create the reference. |
| URL of the Pinterest page you were viewing | Sent to https://api.photo-room.online alongside the image URL. Stored on the project metadata. |
So you can later see where the reference came from. |
| Email + password (only when you sign in via the popup) | Sent to https://api.photo-room.online/api/auth/login. Email is shown back in the popup. |
Standard sign-in. |
What we do not collect
- We do not track which Pinterest pages you visit. The Extension sends data to our servers only when you click the ➜ Photoroom button.
- We do not read or upload other browser tabs.
- We do not use analytics, ad networks, fingerprinting, or third-party tracking SDKs in the Extension.
- We do not sell or share your data with third parties.
- We do not access cookies of other sites.
Where data is stored
Auth tokens stay in your browser's chrome.storage.local
until you sign out of the Extension or uninstall it. Anything sent to
https://api.photo-room.online lands in your Photoroom
account on Photoroom's infrastructure (Selectel Cloud Storage; Postgres
at Selectel BL25, Russia). The
Photoroom Privacy Policy
applies to that data.
Your controls
- Click Sign out of extension in the popup to clear stored tokens.
- Uninstall via
chrome://extensionsto wipe everything the Extension stored locally. - Delete the project on Photoroom to remove the image and metadata from the server.
